Enjoying time with family

It has been a crazy year with COVID-19, sickness, and the winter storm. I have not had a lot of time to visit with family. However, on Saturday, my wife and I went to Bryan/College Station to watch my nephew, Brayson, play baseball on his opening day.

It was a much needed getaway and time spent with family. Katy and I enjoyed visiting the bonfire memorial and a movie afterwards and then dinner with a friend that we had not seen in a while.

We also stuck around for Breakaway on Saturday night. It is a college Bible study for students at Texas A&M that is held every Tuesday night at 9pm. They held a service on Saturday night as well because it was parents weekend. I had not been in nearly ten years and Katy had never been. We enjoyed the time of worship together.

In the fast-paced world that we live in, I was once again reminded how important it is to spend time with family and friends.

I know the past few weeks, I have written about Trooper Chad Walker. Last Wednesday, thousands gathered to honor Trooper Walker and his service to the others. Trooper Walker was only 38 years old and left behind a wife and four children. I can’t even imagine. My continued prayers go out to the Walker family.
