Briggs finds new home in Teague as FBC youth minister

David Briggs is the new youth minister at First Baptist Church in Teague.

Briggs came to Teague in May from Myrtle Springs Baptist Church in his hometown of Hooks. He had been the youth minister there for six years.

“My wife and I had moved back to Hooks after ministering in several churches in Northeast Texas and Arkansas to be with my mother and father who were in failing health,” Briggs said. “After they passed, it was very hard to be there where my father’s name is on the Little League field. They lived on Main Street and were a big part of the community. Briggs and his wife decided to look for a permanent church in a different area.
