Being thankful for things we take for granted

The winter storm this past week made me so thankful for things that we take for granted on a daily basis. Having electricity, water, internet, and phone service is a part of our daily lives.

When the winter storm hit and wiped all four out for hours or days, or maybe even weeks, it made me realize how custom we are to having the essentials and the things that we take for granted at times.

We lost electricity for over 50 hours and had to bundle up with multiple blankets to stay warm in a house that was 45 degrees.

We lost water for about three days and were without internet and phone service for over a week.

It was very difficult to try to keep my wife who is sick warm and comfortable.
