Ernest DeVore

Ernest Lee Dimitri DeVore, 52, of the Hartshorne, Oklahoma area, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024.

Ernest “Ernie” was born on Aug. 3, 1971, in Dallas, to William “Bill” and Donna Kay (Moore) DeVore. He was raised in Teague and Waco.

He lived in several states, including Hawaii.

He served four years in the United States Air Force and married Kathy Jo Goffinet on April 22, 1999.

He was a lover of jokes and was known to program the computers on display in Target and then leave. His first computer was a Commodore 64 and his gift skill in programming provided for his family throughout their marriage.

He was a devout Christian and was a member of the Sts. Cyril & Methodius Orthodox Church.

He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother.

His family was everything to him and he was a trusted friend and was always ready to help.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Jo DeVore; sons, Jared DeVore, Nikki DeVore, Joshua De-Vore and Eli DeVore; a daughter, River Lily De-Vore; mother, Donna Kay DeVore; and sister, Debbie D eVore Laura DeVore.

He was preceded in death by his father, William DeVore.

A Panikhida memorial was held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, at the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church.

Services were at noon on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church in Hartshorne with Father Alexis Baldwin officiating.

Graveside services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague with Bro. Marcus Sheffield officiating.
