PEGGY PADGETT ALLISON

Graveside services for Peggy Padgett Allison, 92, were held Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Brother Scott Matthews officiated.

Visitation was held prior to the services on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until noon at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.

Peggy Padgett Allison moved to her Heavenly Home early Friday morning, Sept. 10, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley and Cecil Padett of Teague; husband, Paul Ray Allison; daughter, Cheryl Cunningham (“CC”); and son, Paul Ray Jr. Peggy was joyfully greeted by her Savior and Lord, as well as her beloved family and friends awaiting her arrival.

Peggy never “worked” outside her home but she contributed countless hours as a volunteer for the San Jacinto Girl Scouts Council for well over 60 years. She also volunteered at South Main Baptist Church in several areas up to and including her 92nd year of life.

From her youth, Peggy enjoyed singing, playing the piano, telling jokes and stories. After marrying, she and Paul Ray (PR) traveled extensively through the U.S. as well as Canada, Europe and North Africa. She never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone in her vicinity.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Rick Rankin of Teague; grandson, Aron Haire and wife Kate of Montana; grandson, Seth Rankin of Pasadena; granddaughter, Taylor Perrella and husband Kyle (transitioning from New York to Texas); and one beloved and adored great-granddaughter, Lola Haire.

Peggy also has many other relatives and friends, too numerous to name but each one loved and cherished as only she could.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the San Jacinto Girl Scouts online at www.gssjc.org or the Blanket Ministry at South Main Baptist Church, 4300 East Sam Houston Pkwy S., Pasadena, TX 77505.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18.
