Graveside services for Mrs. Marilyn Abernathy Stephens, 88, were held on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 1:00p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Mr. Ronald Ward officiated. Mrs. Stephens passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017, at Medical City in Denton. She was born in Lamesa, TX to Temple and Alta Senter Abernathy. Marilyn was a servant of the Lord and always acknowledged Him first. She was a constitutional journalist and believed strongly in God, country, and family. She is survived by her husband, William J. Stephens; one son, Wayne Waida; one daughter, Lynette Waida Caley; five grandchildren, Kristin, Katie, Taylor, Troy, and Hannah Beth; one niece, Michelle Allison & husband Dane; one nephew, Phillip Strodtman; two great nieces, Lee and Leslie; two “adopted”daughters, Mary Diaz and Lupe Maria Solis.
