Diann Clary

Funeral services for Diann J. Clary were held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Scott Matthews officiated. Interment followed the service at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation was held on Friday with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Clary passed away on Monday, Feb. 27, 2023, at her residence near Teague.

She was born in Teague on Oct. 17, 1950. Diann grew up in Teague and graduated from Teague High School with the class of 1969.

She married Olen Clary on June 20, 1981, and shared almost 42 years of marriage together. She loved to be outdoors and enjoyed mowing, working in her yard, and was known for keeping a very clean house.

Her favorite foods were fried chicken and hamburgers, and that was just about all she ever wanted to eat. Diann loved to visit with people and would go out of her way just to say hello.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Teague since joining on April 16, 1961.

She is survived by her husband, Olen Clary; one granddaughter, Heather Idlett and husband Steve — all of Teague; C lary one great-grandchild, Finley Idlett, and twin great-grandchildren, River and Reid Idlett on the way; her “neighborhood children” whom she loved, Nannette Posey, Sheila La-Foy and Wade Cothran; numerous cousins and friends including several special friends: Vickie Beard, Karen Alexander, Paula Hogan, Connie LaVerne Jones, Pat Cothran, Cathy Nanny, Cissy Maggard, Mary Ellen Maeker, Donna Boughton, Kit Prasil, Debbie Cockerham and Cathy Knouse.

Mrs. Clary was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lyrleen Johnson; her grandparents, Clyde and Alma Elliott; and her daughter, Lynda Finley.
