COLETTA L. LAWLER

Funeral services for Coletta L. Lawler, 70, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Brother Jerry Sirmons will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lawler passed away after a lengthy and courageous battle against C.O.P.D. She was also a breast cancer survivor for many years but her cancer had recently returned.

She was born in Amarillo on Feb. 28, 1949. She lived in Waco during her high school years and attended LaVega. Coletta married James E. Smith and shared more than 10 years of marriage together until being separated by his death in 1977. Later that same year she married Jessie Lawler and shared almost 39 years together until his death in 2016. Mrs. Lawler lived in Cypress and Teague for most of her life. She worked as office manager for All Style in Cypress for more than 20 years until her retirement in 2014. Coletta enjoyed quilting, and made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. She also loved to cook for her family and play games with them including Yahtzee and Scrabble. Mrs. Lawler truly loved spending time with her family and she loved her dogs, especially her beloved dog, Hershee. She was a Methodist by faith.

She is survived by three daughters, Cindy Smith Noland and husband Brian of Rosenberg, Paulette Lawler Graham and husband Joe of Teague, and Jessica Lawler of Pecos; 10 grandchildren, Justin Deveney, Josh Oney and wife Josey, Seth Strader, Keely Smith, Shelby Avila & husband Jerret, William Graham and wife Ashelee, Cameron Graham and wife Alexandria, Brad Gauntt, Samantha Lummus, and Grady Lummus; eight great-grandchildren, Jameson, J. W., Jaxon, Aubree, William, Larami, Madison, and Bryson; her identical twin sister, Lowetta Sirmons and husband Jerry; four other sisters, Donna Wishon, Roberta Fisher and husband Don, Darlene Turner and husband Bob, and Beth Dobbs; three brothers, Paul Keith, Donald B. Keith, Jr., and James Keith and wife Jessica; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Lawler was preceded in death by her husbands, James E. Smith and Jessie P. Lawler; her mother, Peggy Suitor, and her father, Donald B. Keith Sr.

The family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Texarkana/Hospice of Hope Care Center, 3515 Texas Blvd, Texarkana, TX 75503.
