TX17, other state candidates meet in Fairfield

A bevy of qualified candidates for offices throughout the state came together Thursday night, speaking at a forum at the Fairfield High School cafeteria.

Sponsored by the Freestone County Retired Teachers Association, the packed event featured speakers in several hotly contested primary races.

Both Republican and Democratic candidates for United States Representative in TX District 17 were present, with each candidate receiving three minutes of time to speak. FCRTA President Terry Dunlap served as timekeeper, and 99.1 KNES Radio host Buzz Russell was the event’s master of ceremonies.

Representing the Republican ballot for TX17 were David Saucedo, Kristen Alamo Rowin, Pete Sessions, Elianor Vessali and Todd Kent. Representing the Democrats were Rick Kennedy, Robert Foster III and David Jaramillo.
