TISD to discontinue remote learning

At the Teague ISD school board meeting Tuesday evening, Dec. 15, TISD Superintendent Chris Skinner announced that remote learning would be discontinued the fourth six weeks in January for students who are struggling which means they are not doing their best work or choosing not to turn in their assignments.

“Students who perform well, have a medical diagnosis, or are in a mandatory quarantine may work on their assignments remotely,” Skinner said. “There will be an appeal process for students who we require to come back to school if they do not think they should be required to return to school.”

According to Skinner, about 10 percent of their students are doing remote learning and 5 percent of those are students who are in a mandatory quarantine.
