THS Student Council help collect 157 units of blood

The Teague High School Student Council, was awarded a plaque, from Carter Blood Care, for hosting a blood drive at the school that collected 157 units of blood. The drive was held in conjunction with Carter Blood Care on April 2. Their blood donation was the most collected in the Central Texas 3A schools. Gayle Waldrip is the Student Council sponsor.

Last November the student council was invited to come to the Carter Blood Care facility in Waco, to learn what they do and how the blood was processed. Kayla Kimball, student council secretary, said, “The trip inspired us to have a good blood drive and help people who are in need of blood.” They said that they didn’t do it alone. Many gave blood and the entire student council gave time and energy into the drive.
