Honoring Trooper Walker: A ceremony to remember
It was a celebration of life for a man that meant the world to everyone.
He always showed Christ’s love to others with a smile on his face.
Thousands gathered last Wednesday, April 7, to honor Trooper Chad Walker for his dedication and service in Groesbeck and Limestone County as well as surrounding areas.
It began at 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning, when Trooper Walker was escorted from the Groesbeck Funeral Home to the Groesbeck High School Football Stadium, where his service was set to start at 10 a.m.
After the family was seated, Amazing Grace was played followed by a prayer by Jimmy Cotton, the pastor of the Cowboy Heritage Church of Freestone County.
Daddy’s Hands was the next song to play before Cotton spoke on Walker’s life and gave encouragement through scriptures.
