Commissioners host workshop for interim jail booking and transport procedures

The Freestone County Commissioners with the City of Teague, City of Fairfield and Wortham Police Department met for a workshop to discuss the booking, transport and interim procedures while working to repopulate the Freestone County Jail.
“We only have one person who knows everything there is to know about book-in and book-out procedures for the jail,” Freestone County Sheriff Jeremy Shipley said. “We have one other training and they are almost ready to do the job, but we still only have four employees for the job.”
In the last year, the Freestone County Jail has lost an employee on average every 43 days according to Shipley.
