Bell apprehended after fleeing following assault on officer

Tristan Esquel Bell, age 18, was apprehended at 10:05PM on Wednesday night, March 17, without incident following an assault on an officer earlier that morning.

The Teague Police responded to an unwanted person on Jackson Street on Wednesday morning. The responding officer contacted the individual and learned of a Parole Violation Warrant for his arrest. The officer, while attempting to take the person into custody, was assaulted and the person fled the scene. The officer was treated/released and returned to work.

An investigation ensued and officers received reports he strangled his pregnant girlfriend, had stolen a truck from one of our residents which he crashed on FM-1365 before the officer responding to the unwanted person call, he is prone to fits of violent outbursts. The truck, although damaged, was returned to the owner.

Following the incident, the individual was positively identified as Bell, described as a 5’11” white male with brown hair and hazel eyes, weighing 180 pounds.
