TxDOT announces $85 billion roadway construction plan

The Texas Department of Transportation has adopted a 10-year statewide roadway construction plan with a record $85 billion price tag, officials announced last week. Flooding prompts disaster declaration

Heavy rains throughTexas last week caused flooding, particularly in the Dallas area, prompting Gov. GregAbbott to issue a disaster declaration for 23 affected counties. Texans who were affected by the rain, which dumped more than 10 inches in Dallas, are encouraged to file insurance claims with their providers and to complete the voluntary Self Reporting Damage Survey issued by the Texas Department of Emergency Management by visiting damage.tdem.texas. gov. The survey helps the state identify damage across Texas to gain an understanding of what areas were affected during the recent severe weather.

Prayer: Remember Earth is not our home

My 34th birthday was a great one. I am so thankful for everyone making my day special. I will say that I am so blessed to work at The Fairfield Recorder and The Teague Chroncile. My wife may have asked me to stop by the office to grab an old newspaper for her. However, Bobbi, Monica, and Edgar had really gotten together and got me a cake for a little surprise birthday celebration. It meant so much to me.
