Smalls businesses urged to apply for COVID-19 relief

The U.S. Small Business Administration has designated COVID-19 as a qualifying event for the provision of Economic Injury Disaster Loans for businesses and private non-profits in affected communities. The Texas Department of Emergency Management is assisting the organization in the process.

The Texas Governor’s Office and the SBA Disaster Office agreed to make funding available. The effects of economic disruption to Texas’s 2.7 million small businesses, who employ 4.7 million people across the state, has been felt across the state as more business have shuttered doors and individuals have stayed in.
