Murder in the town of Montague

Montague, Texas is a small town in the northeastern section of Texas. The town is the county seat of Montague. Anglo-Americans began their development in 1850. In the year 2020 census, the town has 317 residents while the county has 19,262, population.

Murder in Montague is a well written book which traces the history of the town and the brutality of the murder took which took place on August 26, 1876. The family of Methodist minister William England settled in their beds after an evening of planning a wedding for their son and after saying their bedtime prayers. Since August was a heated month, 27-year-old Harvey Taylor decided to sleep on the front porch in order to catch a cool breeze. His mother, Selena married William England after the minister’s first wife passed away and the marriage seemed to be satisfactory to all of those involved.
