THS Theatre Production Class to present "To Kill a Mockingbird"
-
Since September the Theatre Production Class at Teague High School has been working on To Kill a Mockingbird. This outstanding novel by Harper Lee won a Pulitzer Prize, and was later turned into a motion picture starring Gregory Peck.
Now the Teague High School Theater Production Class is working to perform the stage play written by Christopher Sergel. Performances open to public will be this Thursday, November 20th at 7 p.m.; Saturday, November 22nd at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, November 23rd at 2 p.m. All tickets to the production will be $5 at the Teague High School Auditorium.
The students and other helpers have spent many hours working on the set design, learning the staging, and memorizing lines. The play is set in the 1930's so the students also had to research in order to create an atmosphere appropriate to that time.
"This most certainly has been an exciting experience and has required more work and dedication than I originally thought. It has been great fun and I can't wait until all of our friends and families watch the show," said junior Morgan Reed.
