KERRY NEAL GEORGE, SR.
Kerry Neal George, Sr. was born to Berle LaRue George and the late Johnnie Therris George on June 13, 1956, in Houston, Texas, the last of five children. He passed from this life on May 25, 2007, at the home of his brother in Crosby, Texas. Mr. George was 50 years old.
Funeral services for Mr. George will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2007, 11:00 a.m., at the Church of Christ in Teague, Texas. Rev. Richard George and Rev. Dale Mitchell will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date at George Cemetery in Clay Hill, Texas.
Kerry was a member of the Teague Church of Christ. He worked most of his life as an Auto Parts Manager for several car dealerships in Central Texas and was known as the "Mopar Man." Through his work with Mopar for the last 20 years, he won several competitions which rewarded him and his wife, Sheree, with travel to Boston, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, a Caribbean cruise and in 2004 a two week trip to South Africa.
He was well liked by his fellow workers and had numerous friends. He was a talented singer and guitarist and enjoyed music with his family.
During his illness he continued to think of others and often prepared the morning coffee or surprised everyone with donuts and special treats. Although he couldn't eat what he wanted the last few months, he shared in the preparation of meals and encouraged everyone else to enjoy their food.
He enjoyed making everyone laugh. Even in his illness he would make comments like, "I can't believe I feel so good when I look so terrible!" As he lost weight and became thinner and thinner, he would take on the pose of the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz just to make his family laugh.
Kerry faced the challenge of fighting his cancer bravely with out complaining or questioning God. His wife Sheree was continually by his side acting in the role of medical nurse and supporting him with tender care and concern. Although his condition was advanced when he was diagnosed, he still looked to the future and enjoyed each and every day, greeting each sunrise with happiness. Cancer may have destroyed his body, but it didn't destroy his spirit. He was a joy to be with and he will be truly missed.
Mr. George is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sheree Ann George of Teague, his daughter Brandy Michelle Scott, his sons Kerry Neal George, Jr. and Dustin Cody George, his granddaughters Bailey Marie, Raven Marie, Heidi Michelle, Kaylee Bridget and Hailey Sheree, and his mother Berle LaRue George. His brothers Johnnie and wife Phyllis, Richard and wife Margaret, and Joe Bob, his sister Gloria and husband Randy, a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive Mr. George.
He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents Odell and Jewel George of Teague.
