Dorothy Burleson Sarrett passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2007. She was 80 years old.
Ms. Sarrett was born on May 17, 1927, in Teague, Texas and was raised there. “Dot”, as she was known to her many friends moved to Atlanta, Georgia in the early fifties. She settled in Decatur, Georgia where she worked as an Executive Secretary for Barge-Wagener Company retiring in 1992. Dorothy was a loving, hardworking single mother of three.
Ms. Sarrett is survived by her sister Winnie Kinser of Arlington, Texas; her beloved children Jerry Garey of Frisco, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas C and Ruth Sarrett of Madison, Georgia and Rev. and Mrs. Charles and Margaret Biggs of Round Hill, Virginia; her grandchildren Sara and Paige Sarrett of Madison, Georgia, Lea Anne Bumett of Austin, Texas and Randy Garey of Allen, Texas. She had one great grandchild, Zachary John Bumett of Austin, Texas. There are many nieces, nephews and friends especially her friends with the Don’t Quit Group.
Ms. Sarrett was preceded in death by her father M.O. Burleson of Texas; stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Buchanan of Wagoner, Oklahoma and her sister Lea DuBose of Houston, Texas.
Services for Ms. Sarrett were held on Saturday, July 28, 2007, at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur. A private graveside service was held. Her son-in-law Rev. Charles R. Biggs officiated.
ANDREW LAFAYETTE “ANDY” FERGUSON
Funeral services for Andrew Lafayette “Andy’ Ferguson, 67, of Buffalo, Texas, were held on Thursday, August 2, 2007, at Memorial Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas.
Mr. Thomas Middlebrook conducted the services and interment was at Marquez Cemetery in Marquez, Texas.
Mr. Ferguson was born on October 12, 1939, in Hearne, Texas to Tommy and Minnie Neiman Ferguson. He passed away on Monday, July 30, 2007, in Tyler, Texas.
Mr. Ferguson was a Laborer for the City of Buffalo and was a member of the Buffalo Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Ferguson of Buffalo, his sister-in-law Darlene Johnson and husband J.W. of Buffalo, his nephew Darwin Copeland, his niece Reta King and husband Rick, his great nieces Sarah and Kathleen King.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers for Mr. Ferguson were Roy King, Ricky King, Jackie Thomason, Daniel Waters, Jeremy Waters and Jerry Waters.
Memorial Funeral Home of Buffalo was in charge of the arrangements.
CHRISTOPHER “CHRIS” WADELL REEVES
Christopher “Chris” Wadell Reeves, of Palestine, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas. He was 51 years old.
Mr. Reeves was born on September 11, 1955, in Anderson County, Texas. He was a retired Public Works Employee for the City of Palestine and an AA Counselor and Representative for Anderson County. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Palestine.
Funeral services for Mr. Reeves were held on Saturday, August 4, 2007, at Palestine Church in Palestine. Rev. Roy G. Duncan and Elder Jerry Dunford conducted the services and interment was at Magnolia Cemetery in Palestine, Texas.
Mr. Reeves is survived by his father Cleophus W. Reeves of Palestine, his son Christopher Robinson of Palestine, His brother Alfred D. Reeves, Sr. and wife Charlotte of Palestine, his sisters Betty J. Day, Veronica Ann Barrett and Beverly Jo Shead, all of Palestine, his grandchild Chrystal Robinson of Arlington, his uncles Leston Reeves of Denver Colorado and Supt. J.E. Reeves of Palestine, his aunt Roxie Ricks and husband Same of Palestine, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. His special friends Emma Jo and Margie Sandifer also survive Mr. Reeves.
Pallbearers for Mr. Reeves were Graylyn Crawford, Sr., Richard Reeves, Sr., Delbert Reeves, Bruce Barrett, Edward S. Birdow and Sean Crawford.
Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home of Teague was in charge of the arrangements.
JAMES HARRELL LITTLE
Funeral services for James Harrell Little were held on Wednesday, August 8, 2007, 11:00 a.m., at Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church in Buffalo, Texas.
Reverend Kevin Gilmore officiated and Charles Vann gave the eulogy. Burial followed at the Buffalo Cemetery.
Mr. Little was born in Freestone County, Texas on September 16, 1914, to Marion and Mamie Huffman Little. He passed away in Houston, Texas on August 4, 2007, at the age of 92 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 59 years, Glada Ray Davis Little. He is survived by his daughter Lana Garcia and husband Bobby, his grandson Shane Garcia, his granddaughter Tamara Miro and husband Don, his great grandsons Jared, Dillon, Zachary and Shane Miro, his niece Maxine Farley and husband Lanny, his nephew Charles Vann and wife Cameron, his cousins Beck Williams and Chloe and Joe Brotherton and other close relatives and friends.
Pallbearers for Mr. Little were Shane Garcia, Don Miro, Jared Miro, Dillon Miro, Zachary Miro and Shane Miro.

H.L. BROWN
Reverend H.L. Brown, former Pastor of First Baptist Church, South Teague, and Moderator of the Lebonan Baptist District, expired on August 2, 2007. He was funeralized at 11:00 a.m., August 9, 2007, at Greater Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, 2335 Fifty Sixth Street, Dallas, Texas.
A Wake Service was held on Wednesday, August 8th from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. also at Greater Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.
Reverend H.L. Brown and Mrs. Donna Brown were very active in the Freestone and Limestone communities. They were a positive influence through the church community especially youth in the forefront featuring the High Steppers for Christ. Mrs. Donna Brown, 416 Highfall, Dallas, TX 75232.
