A memorial service for Richard Ernest Henson was held on Saturday, September 8, 2007. Brother Steve Cowart conducted the private service held at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague, Texas. Richard passed away on September 5, 2007, after a long illness.
Richard was born in Teague, Texas on June 15, 1953. He grew up in Teague and graduated from Teague High School in 1971. Richard attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas where he earned both a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree. He became a high school English teacher, first in Rockdale, Texas where he taught for seven years and then in Huffman, Texas, near Houston, where he taught for twenty-three years. When he retired in 2003, he returned to Teague. Richard was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church.
Richard is survived by his mother Janelle Henson and his two brothers and their wives, Kelly and Valerie Henson of Teague and David and Debbie Henson of Rowlett. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father Ross Henson and his grandmother Georgia Cline.

CARL SIMS
Graveside services for Carl Sims, 87, of Mexia, Texas, were held on Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at Prairie Grove Cemetery.
Rev. Clifton Jones, Pastor of Prairie Grove Baptist Church, officiated.
Mr. Sims was born on April 20, 1920, in Lindale, Texas to E.J. and Opal Dale Spencer Sims and passed away at Haven Nursing Home in Mexia on September 9, 2007. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was wounded near Rome and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of Prairie Grove Baptist Church and retired as an aircraft mechanic at Kelly Air Force Base.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his grandson Keith Mays, Jr.
Mr. Sims is survived by his wife Margaret Doris Burkett Sims of Mexia, his children Ruth Anne Sims Eberle and husband Richard of Mexia, Wayne Eugene Sims and wife Kathy of Adkins, Nancy L. Sims Mays and husband Keith of Taylor, Deborah Kaye Sims Brooks and husband Danny of Mexia and Gary Allen Sims and wife Carol of Gouldbusk. His grandchildren Frank Eberle, Christopher Mays, Randal Eberle, Carl Wayne Sims, Melissa Day, Jennifer Lansford, Becky Fullenwider, Sherry Wiggins, Laura Samples, Kimberly Young, Kristi Rhodes, Wendy Weidner, Brandy Smith, and Heather Bolen and 27 great grandchildren also survive Mr. Sims.
Pallbearers for Mr. Sims were Frank Eberle, Christopher Mays, Randal Eberle, Carl Wayne Sims, Josh Lansford, Justin Day and Ace Eberle.
Honorary pallbearers were Brandon Lansford, Keith Wiggins, Austin Eberle, Jordan Lansford, Joshua Sims, Thomas Weidner III, Caleb Rhodes, Brett Bolen, William Weidner, and Matthew Bolen.

TOI DOUGLAS CARTER
Funeral services for Mr. Toi Douglas Carter were held on his birthday, Monday, September 10, 2007, at first Baptist Church North Teague.
Rev. Larry Rose officiated and Rev. Edward J. Malone was Eulogist. Interment followed the service at Antioch Cemetery in Teague.
Mr. Carter was born on September 10, 1967 in Teague, Texas, to Alford Lee Carter, Sr. and Ardella Mae. He passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2007, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas, among family and friends.
Mr. Carter grew up in Teague and attended Teague Public Schools. He was a member of First Baptist Church North Teague. He was employed as a painter for the Lide Container Company in Mexia.
Mr. Carter is survived by his parents Ardella Mae West and Willie C. of Teague, his children Latoia Ardella Little, Ashleigh Barrentine and Nicholas Barrentine, his brothers Alford Lee Carter of Teague, Cedric Allen of Houston, U.S. Army Sgt. Willie Mathis West and Sherika of Hawaii, Clint West and Varnetta of Teague and Willie Sharod West and Chrystal of Teague, his soul mate Francine Sarah Foley of Teague, his stepchildren Micha, Nancy and Erin Foley, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents and his uncle.
Pallbearers for Mr. Carter were Joel Lopez, Antoine Wicker, Howard Harvey, Douglas Allen, Vincent Mims, Michael Earl Carter and Michael Foley. Honorary pallbearers were his brothers.
