Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Fay Baker, 72, of Buffalo, Texas, were held on Thursday, February 14, 2008, at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo, Texas.
Larry Baker officiated and interment was at Buffalo Cemetery.
Mrs. Baker was born on February 25, 1935, in Huntington, Tennessee, to Marion James and Sara Ethel Dodd Farmer. She passed away on Monday, February 11, 2008, at her home in Buffalo.
Mrs. Baker had lived in Buffalo for eight years after moving from Carthage. She was a restaurant owner and a member of Circle C Church in Mt. Pleasant.
Mrs. Baker is survived by her husband of 53 years, Malcom Baker of Buffalo; her sons James Baker and wife Penny of Mt. Pleasant, Danny Baker and wife Debbie of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Michael Baker and wife Judy of Mt. Pleasant; her daughters Cathy Bryant of Mabank, Cindy Mettlen of Jewett, Melinda Haggard and husband Billy of Carthridge and Lisa Velarda of Old Hickory, Tennessee; her sister Ethel Mae Leek of Atlanta, Texas; 27 grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Baker were Matt Barentine, Charlie Phifer, Jack Knighton, Anthony Whited, Christopher Dailey, Danny Baker, Jr., Stephen Zarcone, James Baker, Jr.; alternates were Brian Travis and Michael Banker, Jr.

EDNA EARLE HALL
Mrs. Edna Earle Hall, of Groesbeck, Texas, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2008, at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital in Waco, Texas. She was 81 years old.
Mrs. Hall was born on June 10, 1926, in West Columbia, Texas, to Rex C. Mills and Nora Camplin Mills.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hall were held on Sunday, February 17, 2008, at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield, Texas.
Bro. Luis Simpson officiated and interment was at Dew Cemetery in Dew, Texas.
Mrs. Hall is survived by her daughter Jo Ann Johnson and husband Donald of Groesbeck; her son Clifton Hall of Houston; her sister Virginia Sealy and husband Leon of Schnectady, New York. Her grandchildren Amy McGilvary and husband Joseph of Groesbeck, Lara Alewine and husband Marc of Houston, Joseph Hall of Houston; her great grandchildren Logan and Ethan McGilvary and Samuel Alewine also survive Mrs. Hall.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, C.R. Hall, who passed away in 1984.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Hall were her nephews.

ERA EVANS
Mrs. Era Evans, 77, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2008, at her residence in Mabank at Cedar Creek Lake.
She grew up in Teague and attended Teague schools. Mrs. Evans loved to fish and really enjoyed living on a lake. She once caught an eighty-seven pound catfish and landed it all by herself! She was a wonderful cook for her family. Mrs. Evans was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter Annette Arena Linebech and husband Rick; her grandsons David Wesley Arena and Frank Sam Arena of Grand Prairie and Randy Hines of Phoenix, Arizona; her granddaughter Jaime Hines of Irving and her great granddaughter Brianna Marie Cunniff, her great grandson Brody Nathaniel Arena all of Grand Prairie; her brother Huey York of Waco; her sister Bobbie Gauntt of Teague; her aunt Louise Ottea of Hearne; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband David Evans and her brother A.D. York.

JOHNNY GOODWIN
Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Goodwin, 49, were held on Sunday, February 17, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Teague, Texas.
Bro. Darrell Beggs officiated and interment followed the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague.
Johnny passed away on February 14, 2008, in an automobile accident near Freestone. He was born in Oceanside, California, but grew up in Cleveland, Texas. He moved to Teague when he was a freshman in high school. Johnny graduated from Teague High School in the class of 1978. He worked in Africa for a few years after several years of employment with Westmoreland Coal Company, but had recently returned to work at Westmoreland.
Johnny was never at a loss for words and was known to always have a “comeback” for everything! He never met a stranger and had a heart of gold. Johnny loved music and enjoyed singing. He always put his family first. Johnny was a member of First Baptist Church in Teague.
He is survived by his wife Jackie Goodwin of Teague; his sons Corey R. Goodwin of Dallas and Evan J. Goodwin of Teague; his daughter Jessica Goodwin of San Marcos; his mother Leah Stephens of Teague and his father Sam Goodwin of Teague. His brothers Danny D. Goodwin of Missouri and Steve Goodwin and wife Terri of Teague; his sisters Patty Smith of Teague and Pamela Chavez and husband Mauricio of Humble; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive Mr. Goodwin.
He was preceded in death by his brother Sammy Lee Goodwin and his sister Teresa McCain.

C.W. (AL) ALLISON
Funeral services for Mr. C.W. Allison, 84, were held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague, Texas.
Bro. Richard Williams and Mr. Scott Bossier officiated and interment followed the services at Union Cemetery near Freestone, Texas.
Mr. Allison was born and raised in Freestone and attended the Freestone School. He served in the United States Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart for being wounded in combat. He married Billie on July 27, 1946. He worked for many years as a butcher for Safeway and was also a horse and mule trader. One of his proudest accomplishments was being one of only ten people to ride the three thousand three hundred and sixty-three mile wagon trail ride, taking six months, around the State of Texas in 1986 as part of the Texas Sesquicentennial Celebration.
He was famous for his team of mules and his wagons and often volunteered his time giving wagon rides for numerous community organizations. When not driving his mule team, Mr. Allison was a steadfast Ford driver. He was a very loving and caring person and his family was everything to him. Mr. Allison was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mr. Allison passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008, in an automobile accident near Teague. He is survived by his wife of over sixty-one years, Billie Allison of Teague; his sons Allen Allison of Teague, Dale Allison and wife Donna, and Cal (Bimbo) Allison and wife LaJean all of Freestone; his daughters Vikkie Williams and husband Dwain (Slokum) of Freestone and Dawn Wetterman and husband James of Teague. His grandchildren Tina and husband Russell, Ricky, Michael, Robert, Kasey, Angie, Becky and husband Jeff, Josh, Jesika, Justin, Dustin and wife Nina, Nichole, Trey and wife Tina, Eva, Keri, Gentry and husband Andy, Megan, Brittney, Amanda and Kelly; numerous great grandchildren; his sisters Callie Ferguson of Waco and Lois Roberts of Irving; a special nephew Albert Lee Allison of Teague; numerous other relatives and many friends also survive Mr. Allison.

BARBARA P. BROADDUS
Graveside services for Barbara Pauline Broaddus, 81, of Coppell, Texas, formerly of Bonham, were held on Thursday, February 21, 2008, at Willow Wild Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, Texas.
Barbara passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2008, at Arlington Villa Nursing and Retirement. She was born on October 24, 1926, in Teague, Texas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Miller. She was a graduate of Teague High School and raised three children before going to work at Texas Instruments.
She finished her career at TI in Dallas. Barbara sang in the church choir. She loved making her grandma Polly’s corn beef hash for her grandchildren on Sunday, and enjoyed making french toast for her family. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy’s fan and loved going to Shreveport to gamble with her friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her son Michael Patrick Cauley on March 17, 1976.
Mrs. Broaddus is survived by her son John Thomas Cauley and wife Linda of Coppell; her daughter Mona Sue Cauley of Arlington; her grandchildren and her great grandson; her niece Dana Kay Dewitt of Lewisville and her Nephew Mark Rogers of Sanger.
