Officers from the Freestone County Sheriff's Office and Teague Police Department arrested three men on Tuesday evening, January 10th, while executing an arrest warrant out of Limestone County at a residence on FM 1451 (Luna Road) south of Teague.
According to information from Freestone County Sheriff Ralph Billings, the suspect named in the arrest warrant, Jeffery Padgett, attempted to flee from the scene on foot by jumping off a farm tractor he was driving as officers approached. Padgett was taken into custody by officers after tripping and falling due to muddy conditions.
Sheriff Billings reports that legal entry was made into the residence and permission was gained from the owner for a partial search of a limited area of the dwelling. The search yielded a glass pipe beneath a pillow, loaded with a substance believed to be methamphetamine in Mr. Padgett's bedroom.
Billings says that at this time the search was terminated and a Search Warrant for the residence was drawn up. Upon arrival back at the residence with the Search Warrant, a close examination of the building yielded electronic scales, syringes, spoon, hydrocodone pills, and both liquid and dry methamphetamine in various locations.
Sheriff Billings added that William Davidson III and Edward Wayne Flagg were arrested in addition to Mr. Padgett and that each of these individuals were transported to the Freestone County Jail where they were charged with Possession of Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, over 4 grams but less than 200 grams.
Officers assisting Sheriff Billings at the scene were Mike Noll and Travis Martin of the Teague Police Department and Freestone County Sheriff's Office Deputies Robert and Diana Willis, Cory House, Wade Harrison, Travis Robertson, Charlie Mathis, and Rick Howerton.
