?I always wanted to own my own business, so when the opportunity came I jumped on it,? said Tony Vaughn, owner of Withrow Furniture Company in downtown Teague. ?Things are going really well, Christmas was very busy.?
Tony Vaughn bought Withrow Furniture Company from lifelong Teague resident, Bill Allison, who had owned and operated it for over 40 years. ?I came and worked for Bill for a year to be sure that I would like this kind of sales,? he said.
Tony wasn't a stranger to sales as he had worked for Radio Shack for seven years including three years as manager of the Mexia Radio Shack.
Tony Vaughn was born in Eulesss, Texas and grew up in Azle, Texas. He graduated from Azle High School in 2000 and attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas.
Even though he didn't grow up in Teague he was very familiar with the town as he came often to visit his maternal grandparents, Jane Traynham and the late Dan Traynham and his paternal grandparents, the late Phil and Helen Vaughn. He lives in the home that his grandfather Phil Vaughn built in Teague. His mother and stepfather, Sue and Bill Allison and his aunt and uncle Jerry and Dana McCombs also live in Teague.
Tony lives with his five year old son, David, who is in pre-school at The Giving Tree in Teague. They attend First Baptist Church in Teague.
Withrow Furniture Company carries a wide variety of furniture, appliances, mattress sets, rugs, lamps and home d?cor. They carry such fine furniture as Ashley, Standard, Cat Napper, Coaster, etc. A wide array of sofas, chairs, love seats, recliners, and ottomen choices are available in the store, however, if you don't see what you are looking for, Withrow Furniture Company has many books available for you to order from.
In appliances Withrow Furniture Company stocks quality brands such as Whirlpool, Frigidaire and Amana. Again, if they don't have what your looking for in the store Tony can order it for you.
They also have a wide selection of matterss sets from Sleeptronic. ?I chose Sleeptronic for the store because it is as good quality as any of the name brands but at a much better price,? said Tony.
Beautiful rugs, lamps, and other home d?cor are all over the store but they can also be ordered.
Withrow Furniture Company has free delivery anywhere in Teague and will deliver in the surrounding area for a small fee.
Tony has also implemented in house financing which, according to him, is pretty flexible, and a 90 days same as cash policy. For only 25% down you can use their layaway plan up to six months. Be sure to watch The Teague Chronicle for upcoming sales.
