Best Decorated Home Contest Winners
12/21/2011
Two of the seven Best Decorated Home category winners are shown here--Most Religious, Clint Skinner; and Most Artistic, The Sifford Family.
Each year the Teague Chamber of Commerce gives awards to the citizens who go out of their way to make our neighborhoods sparkle with the excitement of Christmas.
These homes are the reason people take a drive all over Teague, going in, out and up and down all the streets and highways, sometimes with a load of children ooing and ahhing at all the beautiful lights.
This year the City of Teague had some really beautiful and artistic homes to see. Judges selected by the Teague Chamber of Commerce drove the streets and highways of Teague and chose the best of the best. ?It was a very hard task this year with all the amazing Christmas homes to judge from,? said one of the judges. We debated for a long time deciding which house should win in the different categories.? However, they did decide and these are the winners:
Most beautiful was a tie between the homes of Dennis and Rita Martin, 319 S. 9th Avenue and Pat Shaw, 1613 Main Street.
Most Blow-ups was the home of Val and Christopher Fulcher, 9 Dobbs Drive.
Most Artistic was awarded to the Sifford home on South 9th Avenue.
The Most Religious Award want to the home of Clint, Kristin, Tory and Brice. They had a huge cross on their roof.
The Most Lighted Neighborhood was Circle Drive.
The Shirley Carroll Memorial Award went to Charles and Catherine Day, Northline Road, for The Most Lights. Charles and Catherine's home has won many times because of the time and care they put into their huge display the same way Shirley Carroll loved to do her home display at Christmas.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to make Teague beautiful for Christmas. If you didn't win this year there will be new awards for Christmas 2012.
