TISD Band Department Presents Christmas Concert

THE FIRST PLACE WINNER in the annual “Parade of Lights” Christmas celebration that came down Main Street on Thursday, December 8th was Caney Creek Lodge and Shady Oaks Cabins & RV Park owned by Justin and Beth Bounds.

On Thursday, December 15th the Teague Band will be performing their annual Christmas Concert at the High School Auditorium.

The evening will start with the sixth grade band at 6:30, followed by the seventh grade, eighth grade and ending with the high school band. A dessert auction will take place between each grade level's performance.

Cari Martin, head band director, and Michael Owens, assistant director, are very proud of all the students and the hard work they have been doing to make this a concert to delight everyone.

Admission is free and everyone is invited to attend. It will surely get you in the Christmas spirit!

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

The 2011-2012 school year will hit its halfway mark this Friday, December 16th when Teague ISD students are released early from school to begin a 17-day vacation for the Christmas holidays.

Classes will resume bright and early on Tuesday morning, January 3rd for students with teacher's heading back to the classroom a day earlier on January 2nd for a Teacher Workday as the 4th six weeks grading period begins.

Remaining holidays for the 2011-2012 school year will include Monday, January 16th for Martin Luther King Day; Monday, February 20th for a Student Holiday/Teacher Comp Day; March 12th - 16th for Spring Break; Friday, April 5th for a Student/Teacher Holiday; and Monday, May 28th for Memorial Day. If not needed for make-up days due to inclement weather, students will also be dismissed from classes on Thursday, April 5th and Friday, May 4th.

Students will be dismissed early on Thursday, May 31st for the last day of school with graduation of the Class of 2012 set for Friday evening, June 1st.
