Rebate Check Decreases by 35.71 Percent

The City of Teague has received a check in the amount of $48,852.11 for their portion of the state sales tax rebate sent out each month by the State Comptroller?s office.

The July rebate check showed 35.71 percent decrease from the $75,994.33 check sent to the city at this time last year.

For the first seven months of 2014 the City of Teague has received checks totaling $358,067.21 a decrease of 9.80 percent from last year?s total at this time of $397,002.95.

Three quarters of all sales tax rebate checks sent to the City of Teague are deposited into the general fund for local operations and the remaining twenty-five percent of the check is deposited into the Teague Economic Development Corporation?s fund account.

The City of Fairfield received a check in the amount of $185,847.83 this month. The check is a 27.35 percent more than the $145,033.16 check received at this time last year. So far in 2014, Fairfield has received checks totaling $1,297,307.91, an increase of 6.42 percent from the $1,219,001.56 received by this time last year.

The City of Wortham received a check in the amount of $10,383.73, a decrease of 29.13 percent from last year?s check at this time of $14,653.05. So far this year, the City of Wortham has received checks totaling $82,763.38, a decrease of 11.64 percent from the $93,672.13 check received last year.

The City of Streetman received a check in the amount of $1,852.35 this month. The check was 48.21 percent lower than the $3,577.07 check received at this time last year. So far this year Streetman has received checks totaling $18,404.26, a decrease of 18.48 percent from the $22,576.61 received by this time last year.

The July sales tax allocations as a whole in Freestone County totaled $246,936.02, an increase of 2.82 percent from the $240,157.61 received in July of last year. For the first seven months of 2014, Freestone County cities have received $1,756,542.76 an increase of 1.40 percent from the $1,732,253.25 received at this time last year.

State Comptroller Susan Combs sent July 2014 tax allocations of 602.5 million to Texas cities, up 4.2 percent compared to July 2013.

Cities in Limestone County received sales tax payments totaling $265,827.92, an increase of 0.69 percent from this time last year. In the first seven months of 2014 Limestone County has received $1,999,293.40 an increase of 1.87 percent from the $1,962,410.19 check received in 2013.

Leon County cities received July sales tax payments of $159,616.42, an increase of 17.34 percent from this time last year. So far this year Leon County cities have received $1,096,179.96 up 13.72 percent from the $963,899.63 received last year.

Anderson County cities received July sales tax payments totaling $504,607.44, up 10.62 percent from the $456,161.37 received one year ago. In the first seven months of 2014, Anderson County has received $3,576,610.58 a decrease of 1.70 percent from the 2013 amount of $3,638,541.15.
