Teague FFA Does Well At Houston Livestock Show
TEAGUE FFA made a great showing at the 2014 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Eight FFA members represented Teague and the kids came away with high scores in all the events entered. Pictured in the group are the eight FFA members, along with a few brothers and sisters who made the trip.
Teague FFA had its best run at the 2014 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo this year. Starting with the heifers, Bradlee LaFoy won his class in the Red Angus show taking a spot in the champion drive. Cody Gonzales and Mason Shefield took 4th in the classes with their Brangus and Hereford heifers respectively. In all, Teague FFA was reprented by 9 FFA members in the show including Addison Stuver, Meagan Sheffield, Colton Phillips, Laney McAdams, and Brenna Holmes.
Five students from Teague FFA were entered in the Houston market Barrow show. These students were Evan Johnson, Jaylon Davis, Garrett Till, Daniel Hargis, and Kaitlin Keaton. Jaylon won 4th in his class of Durocs easily making the sale at the show.
Broilers in Houston were represented by Daniel Hargis and Morgan Smith. Daniel Placed 36th of the 178 pens of pullets in the show handedly making the sale at the show as well.
Members of the Teague FFA Range and Pasture Plant Identification team placed second in the Houston show for the third year in a row. Members are Dylan Angel, Bryan Harris, and Garrett Till. Each student was also a top ten high individual in the contest as well.
