Streetman Man Arrested After Car Chase, Crash
A high-speed chase ended in a motor vehicle crash and a Streetman man running into a wooded area to escape police on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.
Twenty-nine year old Brandon Michael Cole was taken into custody the following day.
The incident began after a DPS Trooper was attempting to do a traffic stop on a 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe at 7:42 a.m. on FM 833 1/10 mile west of CR 131. While attempting to evade the trooper Cole was traveling west in the eastbound lane when he traveled across the westbound lane into a driveway off of the right side of the road, struck a fence and came to rest against the fence facing north, according to DPS reports.
After spending approximately 24 hours in the woods he was captured near FM 833 and CR 141, around 8:30 a.m., after a resident whose phone Cole tried to use called 911, said D.L. Wilson of the Department of Public Safety, in a press release.
Trooper Dedrick Wimberly worked the accident and is the arresting officer of record. This information is all that is being released due to the ongoing investigation into evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle.
