City Receives $46,757 Sales Tax Rebate Check
The City of Teague has received a check in the amount of $46,757 for their portion of the state sales tax rebate sent out each month by the State Comptroller?s office.
The March 2014 rebate check showed 31.87 percent increase from the $35,455 check sent to the city at this time last year.
For the first three months of 2014 the City of Teague has received checks totaling $151.297, an increase of 22.49 percent from last year?s total at this time of $123,517.
Three quarters of all sales tax rebate checks sent to the City of Teague are deposited into the general fund for local operations and the remaining twenty-five percent of the check is deposited into the Teague Economic Development Corporation?s fund account.
The City of Fairfield received a check in the amount of $131,622 this month. The check is 7.11 percent more than the $122,874 check received at this time last year. So far in 2014, Fairfield has received checks totaling $530,883, an increase of 7.23 percent from the $495,045 received by this time last year.
The City of Wortham received a check in the amount of $9,289, a decrease of 13.54 percent from last year?s check at this time. So far this year, the City of Wortham has had a decrease of .22 of a percent from the check received last year.
The City of Streetman received a check in the amount of $1,824 this month. The check was 32.07 percent less than the check received at this time last year. So far this year Streetman has had a decrease of 23.71 percent from the check received by this time last year.
The March sales tax allocations as a whole in Freestone County totaled $189,492, an increase of 8.69 percent from the $227,626 received in March of last year.
State Comptroller Susan Combs sent March 2014 tax allocations of $553 million to Texas cities, up 4.1 percent compared to March 2013.
Cities in Limestone County received sales tax payments totaling $247,418, an increase of 5.14 percent from this time last year.
