Harris Receives Four Year Sentence
On February 3, 2014, Willard William Harris was sentenced to four years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) after pleading guilty to a charge of indecency with a child, a second degree felony.
Harris waived his right to a jury trial and accepted a plea bargain set forth by Freestone County Attorney Chris Martin on January 28, 2014.
Under the terms of the plea bargain, the other four charges against Harris were dismissed, which included three counts of indecency with a child and one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child, dating back to December 31, 2009.
Judge Patrick Simmons granted Harris a three day credit for time served and ordered him remanded into the custody of the Freestone County Sheriff?s Department for transportation to TDCJ to begin his sentence.
