Hearing Rescheduled For February 13

For Sheriff Anderon and Captain Robertson

Courtroom procedures for Freestone County Sheriff Don Anderson and Captain Travis Robertson have been rescheduled for a seventh time in Travis County, with the newest date now set for Thursday, February 13. Designation settings were set to be held January 13th.

Designation settings are a hearing where both the prosecution and defense can file motions in the case. Defense Attorney for Sheriff Anderson, Robert McCabe said recently ?a lot of the documents and discovery items requested back in August have not been copied or made available to the defense.? He added that he has not seen any evidence that suggests Sheriff Anderson is guilty of any criminal wrongdoing and that they would not entertain plea offers of any kind. He added that if the case is not dismissed, they will seek a trial.

Both Anderson and Robertson were charged with allegedly fabricating/tampering with a government document. Anderson is charged with 20 counts and Robertson is charged with three counts of the state jail felony.
