City of Teague Rebate Check Totals $64,343
THE VETERANS FLOAT in the Veterans Day Parade held on Saturday, November 9, 2013, held honored veterans from all branches of military service. These veterans served our country in time of war and times of peace to protect our freedom, and Teague citizens came out to thank them for their service.
The City of Teague has received a check in the amount of $64,343.70 for their portion of the state sales tax rebate sent out each month by the State Comptroller?s office.
The November 2013 rebate check showed a 37.22 percent increase from the $46,889.37 check sent to the city at this time last year.
For the first eleven months of 2013, the City of Teague has received checks totaling $642,701.14, an increase of 47.74 percent from last year?s total at this time of $435,011.15.
Three quarters of all sales tax rebate checks sent to the City of Teague are deposited into the general fund for local operations and the remaining twenty-five percent of the check is deposited into the Teague Economic Development Corporation?s fund account.
The City of Fairfield received a check in the amount of $404,059.99 this month. The check is a 64.16 percent increase from the $246,128.03 check received at this time last year. So far in 2013, Fairfield has received checks totaling $2,186,274.69, a 15.79 percent increase over the $1,888,012.34 received by this time last year.
The City of Wortham received a check in the amount of $11,168.66, a decrease of 41.68 percent from last year?s check at this time of $19,150.99. So far in 2013, Wortham has received checks totaling $135,999.90, a decrease of 6.68 percent from the $145,735.05 received in the first elelcen months of 2012
The City of Streetman received a check in the amount of $4,159.95 this month. The check was 46.48 percent more than the $2,839.76 received at this time last year. So far this year Streetman has received checks totaling $38,920.52, an increase of 15.19 percent compared to last year?s check of $33,786.05.
The November sales tax allocations as a whole in Freestone County totaled $483,732.30, an increase of 53.56 percent more than the $315,008.15 received in November of 2012. For the first eleven months of 2013, Freestone County cities have received checks totaling $3,003,896.25, an increase of 20.03 percent over 2,502,544.59 received at this time last year.
State Comptroller Susan Combs sent November 2013 tax allocations of $431.9 million to Texas cities, up 7.0 percent compared to November 2012.
Cities in Limestone County received sales tax payments totaling $288,801.97 a decrease of 1.08 percent from the $291,969.40 received at this time last year. This year Limestone County has received $3,083,241.17 down 0.01 percent from the $3,083,553.43 received by November 2012.
Leon County cities received sales tax payments of $153,817.32, an increase of 4.52 percent from the $146,201.69 received last year at this time. So far this year Leon County has received sales tax checks in the amount of $1,563,403.70 up 5.42 percent from the first eleven months of 2012 rebate of $1,482,923.05.
Cities in Anderson County received sales tax checks totaling $567,378.38 a decrease of 3.40 percent from the $587,367.21 paid in November 2012. The total received for 2013 so far is $5,751,666.08 a 0.96 percent decrease from the $5,807,552.39 rebate received at this time last year.
