Parkfest 2013 is Saturday, Oct. 19
Make your plans now to attend Teague Parkfest 2013 this Saturday, October 19th and enjoy the fun, food and fellowship that Parkfest has offered area residents for numerous years.
Parkfest is one of Teague?s most anticipated events of the year. Put on annually by the Teague Chamber of Commerce, Parkfest fills the Teague City Park with numerous activities for both the big and small. Some of the activities this year include arts and craft vendors, games, a bounce house, face painting, contests, and hayrides.
Don?t forget about the many varieties of food that are available each year to attendees. Due to a conflict with a chili cook-off in Fairfield on Saturday, Parkfest will not hold their annual barbecue contest this year, but it will be back bigger and better than ever next year.
The festivities will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the Teague Police Department?s 5K run and 1K walk. Come out early and cheer on the participants and support the War on Drugs.
At 10:00 a.m. Parkfest gets underway and booths open; at 12 noon a Costume Contest for all the little ghosts and goblins ages 0 to 12 begins under the pavilion. Age groups are 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12. Categories include Most Original, Scariest, Funniest and Cutest.
At 12:30 p.m. the Bingo games will begin and at 1:00 p.m. Dominoes (42) and Washers will begin.
Some of the games this year will include Ring Toss, Fishing, Duck Pond, Glitter Tattoos, Bean Bag Toss, and Bounce House for the little ones. Operation Graduation is sponsoring a Hay Ride and will also be selling Red Poinsettias, $15.00 for a large pot. Help the Class of 2014 have a safe, drug and alcohol free graduation.
Come to Parkfest and enjoy a wonderful variety of fun, food and excitement for the whole family.
