Daryl Brooks Scores NCAA Div-I Touchdown
2013 T.H.S. graduate and athletic standout Daryl Brooks scored his first NCAA Division I touchdown for the Cardinals of the University of the Incarnate Word against Texas College last Saturday.
Brooks hauled in a 31 yard touchdown pass in the second quarter as part of 69-0 rout over Texas College. Brooks received a full Athletic/Football Scholarship to the San Antonio College.
Daryl was the real deal at Teague High School competing in football, basketball and track. He helped lead his team to an 8-4 record and earning a place in the Area Finals. Daryl received many honors in athletics while attending T.H.S. He was named first team all-district as a wide receiver and defensive back and took home Super Cen-Tex Honorable Mention honors at wide receiver. In his junior year, he was a second team all-district quarterback after passing for 920 yards and 11 touchdowns and rushing for 880 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was named the district offensive MVP in basketball in his junior year and was first team all-district player as a sophomore.
Daryl Brooks is the son of Daryl Brooks and Tamica Carter and grandson of David Brooks and Emma Brooks all of Teague.
The Cardinals of the University of the Incarnate Word will be back on their home gridiron on Saturday, September 14th, at 6:00 p.m., against Langston University.
