Wright receives Rotary Presidential Citation

Leading Club Into New Year

DISTRICT GOVERNOR David Huffman presents the Presidential Citation to Teague Rotary President Tommy Wright.  This is the highest award given to the local club by Rotary International.

July 1 began a new year of Teague Rotary?s activities to show ?Service Above Self." ?Tommy Wright began his service as Club President several months ago and continues to serve his official term through next July.

During his tenure the Teague club has awarded five scholarships to Teague High School Students, supported Relay for Life, held a Golf Tournament, cooked for many local fundraisers and supported the international efforts of Rotary. ?This year your Teague Rotarians won the President?s Citation, the highest award given to a local cub. ?

Teague Rotary was originally organized in Teague in the late 1930?s. ?Rotary International began in Chicago in 1905 and is recognized as the first service organization. ?Rotary has 1.2 million clubs in over 200 countries and serves the world through polio eradication, water well projects and countless other works of service. ?

Teague Rotary?s next project is a 5K Fun Run Fundraise to support scholarships and other local projects on September 28. ?The club meets at Rancho Nuevo Restraint each Tuesday at 11:45 and always welcomes guests who are interested in service with Rotary. ?
