Wortham Receives 1.8 Million
To Finance Water System Improvements
The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) recently approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $1,815,295 to finance water system improvements for the City of
The loan consists of $280,000 in money the City of Wortham will be required to pay back and $1,535,295 in loan forgiveness that does not have to be paid back. The money comes fromfrom the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund which helps finance water system improvements.
The City of Wortham intends to use the funds to replace old water meters and 18,500 linear feet of deteriorated water lines.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the State Water Plan for the development of the state?s water resources.
