Relay For Life Is Saturday

Tenth annual fundraiser for American Cancer Society

LUMINANT POWER, ever ready to help our community, presented Teague Relay for Life with a $750.00 donation to the American Cancer Society on behalf of Big Brown plant employees. Gary Trammell, Community Relations Manager for Big Brown (pictured left) presented the check to (l to r) Linda Steen, Chairwoman for Teague Relay for Life; Doris Nealy, Captain of Friends With A Purpose Team, and Joy McAdams, Relay Co-Chairwoman.

The tenth annual Teague Relay for Life, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, will be held at Teague City Park this Saturday, May 4th, 2013, beginning at 10 a.m. and run until 10 p.m.

The event will kick-off with a welcome by Chairwoman Linda Steen, followed by the Survivors Walk. There will be many varied types of entertainment all day as well as lots of food. Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, and Barbecue and more will be available through the event and various types of drinks.

The Teague Relay for Life is for families so there will be lots of games, face painting and other entertainment for children.

The Luminaria Celebration will begin at 9:00 p.m. Don?t miss this beautiful and touching part of the celebration.

Participating in the Teague Relay for Life is very fulfilling cause. The fun, fellowship, and inspiration that a person receives from this event is worth so much more than the effort given. Fairfield won?t be holding their Relay for Life this year so this will be Freestone County?s chance to help support the American Cancer Society through Relay for Life.
