THS Senior Critically Injured In Accident
A one vehicle roll-over accident critically injured Teague High School athletic standout, Trae Bell, early afternoon on Easter Sunday. The accident happened on Highway 84, near the Boyd Unit, when a tire is suspected to have blown out on the vehicle that Bell was driving causing the car to swerve to the right through the bar ditch and into the air.
According to the owner of the property where the vehicle came to rest, he heard a loud noise and looked up to see the car roll over in the air and roll again as landed upright on a fence in his pasture.
Fairfield Ambulance and fire trucks were quickly on the scene to help Bell and a medical helicopter arrived taking him to a Tyler hospital. According to Teague High School Principal, Darrell Evans, Trae underwent surgery on his legs upon arrival in Tyler and was transported to a Dallas hospital on Monday, April 1st.
He is being carefully watched in the Intensive Care Unit. ?Trae and his family need our community to pray for them during this difficult time,? said Mr. Evans. ?Donations will be accepted at the office at Teague High School to help the Bell family with the costs of traveling to be at Trae?s side.?
The accident report from the Freestone County DPS was still not available as of presstime.
