The Angelic Hosts came for Mrs. Annie E. Meachum, 90, on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at her residence in Teague.

Funeral Services were held Friday, March 22, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Church Of Christ, 1001 N. 8th Street, Teague, Texas 75860. Officiating was Bro. Charles Dailey of Teague and Bro. Benjamin Nealy of the state of Arkansas. Interment followed in the Antioch Cemetery on N. 1st Street in Teague.

Mrs. Meachum was born in Roosevelt, Oklahoma to Evans ?Bud? Anderson and Lucille Watson Anderson on January 6, 1923. She graduated from the Roosevelt Public Schools. When she lived in Chicago, Illinois, Mrs. Meachum owned and operated a dry cleaning business, and was married to Bro. W. H. Meachum, a Church Of Christ Preacher. She was a member of the 1001 N. 8th Avenue Church Of Christ.

Preceding Mrs. Meachum in death are: Her parents, husband, brothers: William Bill Coleman, J. W. Anderson, and Charlie Evens Anderson; and a sister: Dorothy ?Kate? Jones.

Those who are left to cherish her memory most are: Her son: Joseph Meachum, Livingston, Texas; Her grandson: Dante Young, Teague, Texas; Her sisters: Louise Walton, Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Pearlie Anderson, San Francisco, CA; and Margaret Anderson, Chicago, Illinois; Her nieces: Betty Ford and Husband, Rev. Joe Ford, Morristown, New Jersey; Terecia Price, Dallas, TX; and Valerie Lewis, Atlanta, Georgia; Her nephews: Kenneth and Clarence Lewis, San Francisco, CA; Her Brother-In-Christ: James R. Phillips, West Covina, California; Her special friends: Jenina Jones; and the Church Of Christ Family.

James Howard Rabon was born on August 21, 1943 in Freestone County, Teague, Texas, to Lee Wilton Rabon and Olga Mae Vaughn Rabon.

James graduated from St. Peters Academy High School in Dallas, Texas. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in May 1967. James attended Gainesville Junior College in Gainesville, Texas and worked for the United States Postal Service and Neiman Marcus.

He was a carpenter by trade and had a passion for art. James became a Catholic at a young age. While living in Teague, he attended St. Paul A.M.E. church. He was married to Yvonne Fincher.

Funeral services for Mr. Rabon were held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Emanuel Chapel in Teague. Rev. R.C. Emanuel, Pastor, conducted the service. Interment was at Antioch Cemetery in Teague.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Carl Lee Rabon, his sister Gwendlyn McFarland Smith, his aunt Fennie Washington (Aunt Bit Bit).

Mr. Rabon is survived by his daughters Angel Rabon of Alaska, Jennifer Rabon of San Francisco; his sons Lafayette Kennedy of Dallas, Joshua Rabon of Dallas; his granddaughter Xavier Rabon, his stepmother Curtie M. Rabon, his sisters Marie Rabon and Felicia Rabon and his aunt Laura Muckelroy.

Pallbearers for Mr. Rabon were Gregory Washington, David Porter, LaJuan Washington, and Devrock Collins.

Final arrangements were entrusted to Emanuel Funeral Home of Teague.


Funeral services for Ms. Velva Jean Robinson were held on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at St. John Baptist Church in Jewett, Texas. Rev. Devonda Robinson officiated and interment was at Friendship Cemetery in Jewett.

Velva Jean Robinson was born on May 5, 1943 to Rev. Algie Robinson, Sr. and Lillian Opal Robinson and passed away on March 13, 2013. She grew up in Jewett graduating from G.W. Carver High School. She moved to Fort Worth where she later joined the United States Army. She returned to Fort Worth following her service and attended business school receiving her certificate in Clerical Management. She later attended Medical Training School and became a C.N.A. and also a Surgical Assistant and Medical Technician. Ms. Robinson married Johnny Mackey and later married Larry Woodard who preceded her in death. Her parents also precede her in death.

Ms. Robinson was survived by her sisters Fay Nell Benson of Fort Worth, Elizabeth Monteloro of Copperas Cove, Lillian F. Robinson of Grand Prairie, Ruth Malone and husband Charles of Dallas; her brothers Luther Robinson of Fort Worth, Algie Robinson, Jr. and wife Annie of Pittsburgh, PA, Eugene Robinson of Jewett, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Pallbearers for Ms. Robinson were Ryan Wheaton, Jeffery Tucker, Kevin Robinson, Devin Benson, Markee Banson, Michael Weaton, Dnavan Monteloro. Honorary pallbearers were Deacons and friends.

Arrangements were entrusted to Emanuel Funeral Homes.
