City Receives $35,454 Sales Tax Rebate Check

The City of Teague has received a check in the amount of $35,454.58 for their portion of the state sales tax rebate sent out each month by the State Comptroller?s office.
The March 2013 rebate check showed 0.95 percent decrease from the $35,795.03 check sent to the city at this time last year.
For the first three months of 2013 the City of Teague has received checks totaling $123,517.33, an increase of 4.56 percent from last year?s total at this time of $118,129.76.
Three quarters of all sales tax rebate checks sent to the City of Teague are deposited into the general fund for local operations and the remaining twenty-five percent of the check is deposited into the Teague Economic Development Corporation?s fund account.
The City of Fairfield received a check in the amount of $122,874.32 this month. The check is a 3.34 percent more than the $118,897.19 check received at this time last year. So far in 2013, Fairfield has received checks totaling $495,044.66, a decrease of 1.67 percent from the $503,500.86 received by this time last year.
The City of Wortham received a check in the amount of $10,743.91, a decrease of 4.80 percent from last year?s check at this time of $11,286.26. So far this year, the City of Wortham has received checks totaling $41,870.40, a decrease of 7.38 percent from the $45,208.27 check received last year.
The City of Streetman received a check in the amount of $2,685.26 this month. The check was 0.50 percent more than the $2,671.89 check received at this time last year. So far this year Streetman has received checks totaling $10,283.52, an increase of 8.96 percent from the $9,437.41 received by this time last year.
The March sales tax allocations as a whole in Freestone County totaled $171,758.07, an increase of 1.84 percent from the $168,367.31received in March of last year. For the first three months of 2013, Freestone County cities have received $670,242.25 a decrease of .082 percent from the $676,276.30 received at this time last year.
State Comptroller Susan Combs sent March 2013 tax allocations of $531.3 million to Texas cities, up 12.2 percent compared to March 2013.
Cities in Limestone County received sales tax payments totaling $227,626.34, an increase of 0.40 percent from the $226,712.99 received at this time last year. This year Limestone County has received $814,682.17 in sales tax rebates up 3.77 percent from the 816,722.19 received in March 2012.
Leon County cities received sales tax payments of $111,363.08, a decrease of 3.17 percent from the $115,009.53 received at this time last year. So far this year Leon County has received sales tax checks in the amount of $389,837.41 down 3.80 percent from the March 2012 rebate of 405,249.56.
Anderson County cities received sales tax payments totaling $410,399.70, down 6.00 percent from the $436,622.94 this time one year ago. Sales tax rebates for Anderson County 2013 have totaled 1,569,316.95 down 1.79 percent from the $1,597,983.84 received in March of 2012.
Cities in Navarro County received sales tax payments totaling $435,314.86 a decrease of 1.86 percent from the $443,608.83 at this time last year. This year Navarro County has received allocations totaling $1,545,115.45 a 3.67 percent increase from the 1,490,357.57 of March 2012.
