Teague EDC Hires Executive Director
?I?ve been working my way around town trying to meet everyone,? says new Teague Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Brienne ?Bree? Ashmore Van de Way, who has been busy getting settled into her office at 316 Main Street.
?I?m happy to be here and looking forward to working to improve Teague. It?s important to keep our existing buildings in good condition so businesses can prosper while attracting new businesses to town to increase our tax base,? says Ms. Van de Way, who graduated high school in Portland, Oregon and studied psychology at Portland State University. HeR business background is in executive management and she has worked on commercial and residential developments, along with helping to restore historic property.
Bree is coming to Teague from the Dallas area and has a daughter who will be coming to Teague once school lets out for the summer.
?The first thing I did was to paint my office orange and white to match the school colors,? added Van de Way. ?Everyone has been so nice and welcoming to me. I?m ready to roll up my sleeves and help everyone who needs it. I really want to help all existing businesses in the area to thrive and succeed.?
Members of the Teague Economic Development Corporation that Van de Way will be working with for the betterment of Teague are EDC Directors Sherri Noland (President), Alan Van Hooser, Randy Hyden, Clint Skinner, Garlan Steed, and Chris Nickleberry.
