Burley Entangled In Electrical Lines

BOWLS AND BOWLS of chili with all the fixings left the Teague Volunteere Fire Department as firemen worked to raise funds to help pay for their new Rescue Truck on Friday, February 1st. Two hundred pounds of chili was devowered by citizens before 12 noon, forcing firemen to cook up another pot as additional citizens came to support the firemen.

A 24-year old Houston woman was life-flighted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas Friday afternoon, February 1st after losing control of her vehicle on FM 489 in eastern Freestone County.

The severe injuries suffered by Arillia Burley didn't come from the accident but came when she exited her car and became entangled in electrical lines from an electrical pole knocked down during the one car accident at approximately 3:20 p.m. Friday afternoon.

According to DPS reports, Burley was northbound driving a red 2007 Infinity when she lost control of her car on a curve and veered off the east side of the road. She reportedly over corrected and ran off the west side of the road, through a mail box, over a private drive and struck an electrical pole. The vehicle came to a rest facing west. It was at that time when Burley reportedly exited her vehicle and tried to walk over the electrical lines on the ground and was electrocuted.

Her condition at Parkland Hospital has not been released. DPS Trooper Kyle Purnell was the investigating officer.
