Lane Morgan Returns From Washington
After Attending Inspiring Leadership Ambassador Program
Lane Morgan, Teague Junior High Student
Lane Morgan, a seventh grade student at Teague Junior High School, recently returned from Washington, D.C., where she attended a People to People World Leadership Forum. Lane, along with fellow delegates from around the world, learned about leadership and how iconic leaders throughout history have handled world events. Various hands-on activities, professional speakers, workshops, and visits to significant memorials, museums and monuments gave Lane a new perspective on the importance and essential need for informed, passionate world leaders.
Some of the landmarks Lane visited were George Washington?s Mount Vernon home, Arlington Cemetery, the U.S. Capitol, the Library of Congress, the White House, and the U.S. Supreme Court. The tour of memorials and monuments included the Jefferson, the Lincoln, the Franklin D. Roosevelt, the Martin Luther King, Jr., and many war memorials. While at Arlington Cemetery, Lane visited John F. Kennedy?s burial site and witnessed the changing of the National Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. On January 21, Lane attended the 2013 Presidential Inauguration on the National Mall.
Lane has a brother, Mick Morgan, who is a freshman at Teague High School. She is the daughter of Kimberly Morgan and the granddaughter of Mick and Jo Ann Atchley.
