40-year-old Mexia woman murdered
Mexican citizen arrested...
After not recording a murder in all of 2012, it just took Mexia a couple of hours into 2013 fto get one on their books.
A man, self described as a Mexican citizen, is being held at the Limestone County Jail on $1,000,000 bond after being charged in the stabbing death of 40-year-old Mexia resident Christina Flores early on New Years Day.
According to Mexia Police officials they were called to a disturbance at 305 Wilson Street at around 2:04 a.m. on New Years Day. On arrival at the scene officers found Flores who had sustained multiple stab wounds. She was, however, able to tell them the name and where they could find her attacker before being taken by ambulance to Parkland Hospital in Dallas where she later died.
The man charged with Flores? murder reportedly gave the police two different names bringing up a question of identity and the police refused to identify him pending further investigation at that time. He is being identified as Manuel Gonzalez by media publications.
Nothing has been released pertaining to the relationship between Flores and Gonzalez. Officials have said that he is being held on an immigration detainer and is not eligible for release.
