City receives $480,810 in 2012
From sales tax rebates...

The City of Teague has received a check in the amount of $45,799.36 for their portion of the state sales tax rebate sent out each month by the State Comptroller?s office. The December 2012 rebate check showed a 74.37 percent increase from the $26,264.29 check sent to the city at this time last year.
For the calendar year 2012, the City of Teague has received checks totaling $480,810.51, a decrease of 4.07 percent from last year?s total at this time of $501,210.34.
Three quarters of all sales tax rebate checks sent to the City of Teague are deposited into the general fund for local operations and the remaining twenty-five percent of the check is deposited into the Teague Economic Development Corporation?s fund account.
The City of Fairfield received a check in the amount of $145,411.43 this month. The check is 11.46 percent less than the $164,248.41 check received at this time last year. In calendar year 2012, Fairfield received checks totaling $2,033,423.77, an increase of 3.99 percent from the $1,955,381.01 received by this time last year.
The City of Wortham received a check in the amount of $11,010.74, an increase of 15 percent from last year?s check at this time of $9,573.97. For the calendar year 2012, the City of Wortham has received checks totaling $156,745.79, an increase of 41.73 percent from the $110,593.82 received during 2011.
The City of Streetman received a check in the amount of $2.484.77 this month. The check was 24.01 percent less than the $3,269.95 check received at this time last year. During calendar year 2012 Streetman received checks totaling $36,270.82, a decrease of 18.83 percent from the $44,689.78 received by this time last year.
The December sales tax allocations as a whole in Freestone County totaled $204,706.30 an increase of 0.66 percent from the $203,356.62 received in December of last year. For the calendar year 2012, Freestone County cities received $2,707,250.89 an increase of 3.65 percent from the $2,611,874.95 received at this time last year.
State Comptroller Susan Combs sent December 2012 tax allocations of $360.8 million to Texas cities, up 14.2 percent compared to December 2011.
Cities in Limestone County received sales tax payments totaling $3,346,697.31, an increase of 1.08 percent from this time last year.
Leon County cities received sales tax payments of $1,601,773.88, an increase of 7.08 percent from this time last year.
Anderson County cities received sales tax payments totaling $6,275,947.78, down 0.80 percent from one year ago.
