Surprise Retirement Party for Sheriff Billings

FREESTONE COUNTY SHERIFF RALPH BILLINGS was honored at a surprise retirement party held in his honor on Thursday, December 13th in Fairfield. Approximately 80 friends and fellow law enforcement officers were in attendance to wish Billings the best in his upcoming retirement. Billings served as a State Trooper from 1973 ? 1999 and as Freestone County Sheriff from 2001 ? 2012. Numerous persons in attendance reflected on their experiences with Billings through the years before refreshments were served. Incoming Sheriff Don Anderson served as Master of Ceremonies. It was noted that Billings always said ?Do the right thing? and he always has.
