City receives $46,880 rebate check

Sales tax...

The City of Teague has received a check in the amount of $46,889.37 for their portion of the state sales tax rebate sent out each month by the State Comptroller?s office.

The November 2012 rebate check showed 14.92 percent decrease from the $55,116.20 check sent to the city at this time last year.

For the first seven months of 2012 the City of Teague has received checks totaling $435,011.15, a decrease of 8.40 percent from last year?s total at this time of $474,946.05.

Three quarters of all sales tax rebate checks sent to the City of Teague are deposited into the general fund for local operations and the remaining twenty-five percent of the check is deposited into the Teague Economic Development Corporation?s fund account.

The City of Fairfield received a check in the amount of $246,128.03 this month. The check is a 35.37 percent more than the $181,805.76 check received at this time last year. So far in 2012, Fairfield has received checks totaling $1,888,012.34, an increase of 5.40 percent from the $1,791,132.60 received by this time last year.

The City of Wortham received a check in the amount of $19,150.99, an increase of 44.26 percent from last year?s check at this time of $7,900.76. So far this year, the City of Wortham has received checks totaling $145,735.05, an increase of 44.26 percent from the $101,019.85 check received last year.

The City of Streetman received a check in the amount of $2,839.76 this month. The check was 30.20 percent less than the $4,068.57 check received at this time last year. So far this year Streetman has received checks totaling $33,786.05, a decrease of 18.43 percent from the $41,419.83 received by this time last year.

The November sales tax allocations as a whole in Freestone County totaled $315,008.15 an increase of 26.56 percent from the $248,891.29 received in November of last year. For the first seven months of 2012, Freestone County cities have received $2,502,544.59 an increase of 3.90 percent from the $2,408,518.33 received at this time last year.

State Comptroller Susan Combs sent July 2012 tax allocations of $350.3 million to Texas cities, up 11.0 percent compared to July 2011.

Cities in Limestone County received sales tax payments totaling $291,969, a decrease of 0.66 percent from the $293,933 received at this time last year.

Leon County cities received sales tax payments of $146,201.69, an increase of 4.67 percent from the $139,669 received at this time last year.

Anderson County cities received sales tax payments totaling $587,367.21, a decrease of 6.71 percent from the $629,666.14 received at this time last year.
