Julie Johnson Atchley was born in 1971 at Corsicana and brought home from the hospital, to Teague, by her parents David and Sharon Johnson. She graduated from Teague High School in 1989 and went to cosmetology school at Charles and Sue's School of Hair Design in Bryan. She graduated in April of 1990.

Julie and Michael Atchley were married in 1992. Michael Atchley is a 1983 graduate of Teague High School and works as an electrician at the power plant in Jewett. The couple has their daughter Carly who is 18 years old and attends the Esthetician program at McLennan Community College in Waco. After graduation she plans to work at The Iron Horse Salon doing facials, make-up, chemical peels etc.

Julie is from a long line of Teague citizens. Her parents were born and grew up in Freestone County and also her grandparents. Her maternal grandparents are the late Guy and Dorothy Bond and her paternal grandparents are the late Willie Mae and Smith Johnson.

When Julie decided to open the salon, her mother and father bought the building and she and Michael did the necessary remodeling. "I guess you would have to say that it's a family business," said Atchley. "We even decided on the name together. My mom and I were trying to decide on a name when my father mentioned The Iron Horse; it was perfect," she added.

Julie has helped serve the City of Teague as well as a member of the Teague Chamber of Commerce, member of the B-RI Railroad Museum and member of the Teague Historical Society to name a few.

Lisa Revels has worked at the Iron Horse Salon with Julie for several years now. She was born in 1967 in Lancaster, Texas. She obtained her Texas Cosmetologist Operator?s License in 1986, before graduating from Lancaster High School the same year. She and her husband moved to Teague in 2002 after purchasing Kilgore Mobile Home Park on Highway 179 in Teague.

"I really enjoy working with Julie and I'm proud to work at the Iron Horse Salon," said Lisa.

She and Rob Revels have three boys: PFC Robbie L. Revels III is at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, with the United States Army; Tristan John Revels, 14 years old, attends Teague High School and plays the drums; Joshua Timber Revels will be twelve in January, rides horses and attends Teague Schools also.

"I really enjoy working with Julie and I'm proud to work at the Iron Horse Salon," said Lisa.

"Most of our clients are our friends. I've made so many friends I may not have had an opportunity to meet if I hadn't been here. Teague has so many great people and we would like to thank them for all the support they have given us," said Julie Atchley.
