Parkfest is Saturday
The anticipation is growing as Teague looks forward to the 25th Annual Teague Parkfest. The festivities will get underway this Saturday, October 27, 2012, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Teague City Park.
Parkfest is sponsored by the Teague Chamber of Commerce, the event features numerous activities games, contests and plenty of food and fun. Over the years Parkfest has grown into one of Teague?s favorite events and is looked forward to each year by hundreds of citizens who attend.
The Costume Contest beginning at 10:30 a.m. Register early for this event. The categories are Most Original, Scariest, Funniest/Cutest. Age groups for the Costume Contest are 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12.
For the adults there is BBQ Cook-off with judging beginning at 10, 11, 12, and 1. There will be Arts, Crafts, Food, Games and Entertainment starting at 12:00 noon.
This year Encana will have a booth that will be a fundraiser for Amy VanWinkle who has been battling the effects of cancer. They will have Fun Food including Fried Twinkies, Snickers, Sausage on a Stick, and other Texas State Fair Cuisine. Be sure to stop and enjoy one of these unique items while donating to a very good cause.
Don?t forget the 5K Run and the Fun Walk sponsored by the Teague Police Department and the War on Drugs. Starts at 8:30 a.m. Vendors will be available, from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., to have breakfast for runners and their families to purchase. Registration will still be open the day of the race from 7:30 until 8:00 a.m. Pre-registered entries may pick up their packets on Friday, October 26, 2012, between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., at the Teague Police Department, 105 S. 4th Avenue.
Cow Patty Bingo has always been an all-time favorite. A cow will be released in the rodeo arena and wherever she decides to leave a patty on the grid, the person who has purchased the square will win. Squares are $5.00 each and are on sale at The Teague Chronicle.
